There’s another online project management tool – this one is Asana.com.
Much like Podio.com, the claims are simple: “Asana puts conversations & tasks together, so you can get more done with less effort.” You can setup various projects, assign resources, generate “to-do’s/tasks”, mark tasks complete, communicate with team members within the various projects, and receive metrics regarding the status of the project.
I found the interface hard to use. All of the key functions are accessed via icons, and drop-downs, which I didn’t find intuitive at first. Obviously, once I figured out how things worked, it was much easier. But the learning curve was larger than I would have liked.
Like all of the other online project management tools I’ve looked at thus far, this one is really no different. A good project manager will have his or her own method of sharing – either via email, GoogleDocs, or some other centralized system.
